 'DASH ‘N SPLASH' SERIES

'Dash ‘N Splash' was 'born' on the 27th September 1998 with 35 individuals and 8 two person teams taking the gun for the very first event.  Now, 20 seasons and 113 events later, Dash ‘N Splash attracts a loyal following of all abilities and ages.  We look forward to celebrating our 21st season with you.

Event 1: Mosgiel Pool - Wednesday 5th December 2018 - 7.00pm start

New Format - RUN 1.5km / SWIM 150m / RUN 1.5km / SWIM 150m / RUN 1.5km / SWIM 150m
SCHOOL AGE (option): RUN 1.5km / SWIM 150m / RUN 1.5km

RUN COURSE - 1.5km

START: At the back of the Mosgiel Pool on the Silverstream Track. Run North on the track, to a turn cone at 400m. Turn and run back South, going past start line. Run under Gordon Road on the pedestrian footpath. Follow the track South to the turn cone. Turn and return to Pool entering through the back gate.

SWIM COURSE - 150m

Pool is 25m (25m per lap x 6)

 

Event 2: St Clair Pool - Wednesday 19th December 2018 - 6.30pm start

RUN 3km / SWIM 150m / RUN 3km / SWIM 150m
SCHOOL AGE (option): RUN 3km / SWIM 150m

RUN COURSE - 3km

START: St Clair Pool. From the pool, Run up the Esplanade, staying on footpaths and continue past the St Clair Surf Life Saving Club, down the track onto the beach. Run on the beach to the turn cone at 1500m. Turn and run on the beach, back to the St Clair Pool. (Due to track erosion and tide influence the course may differ on the night). 
       
SWIM COURSE - 150m
Pool is 25m (25m per lap x 6)

 

Event 3 – Vauxhall Yacht Club – Wednesday 23rd January 2019– 6.30pm start

OPEN WATER SWIM 250m / 1km RUN / OW SWIM 250m / 1km RUN / OW SWIM 250m / 2km RUN
OPEN or SCHOOL AGE Option: OPEN WATER SWIM 250m / RUN 2km

SWIM COURSE – 250m Open Water
A triangular course off Vauxhall Yacht Club. Exit water up the ramp to transition.

(Inflatable Rescue Boat (IRB) in attendance)

RUN COURSE – 2km (2 X 1km out and back laps)

START: at transition area by the boat ramp. Run onto the footpath (walkway) 500m towards Macandrew bay and return boat ramp transition area. Repeat for 2km distance.

Event 4: NOW - Macandrew Bay – Wednesday 13th February 2019 – 6.30pm start

SWIM COURSE - 250m Open Water

A triangular course at Macandrew Bay set out with bouys.

RUN COURSE - 2km (2 x 1km out and back laps)

START: Macandrew Bay Beach. Run North on the footpath (walkway) 500m towards Company Bay and return to Macandrew Bay Beach transition area. Repeat second lap to finish.

  

 Event 5: Macandrew Bay – Wednesday 20th February 2019 – 6.30pm start

OPEN WATER SWIM 1000m / RUN 5km
OPEN or SCHOOL AGE Option: OPEN WATER SWIM 500m / RUN 5km

SWIM COURSE – 1000m or 500m Open Water
A multi lap triangular course off the Macandrew Bay beach. Exit water up the beach to transition.

(Inflatable Rescue Boat (IRB) in attendance)

RUN COURSE – 2 x 2.5km (out and back)

START: Macandrew Bay Beach. Run North on the footpath (walkway) 1.25km towards Company Bay and return to Macandrew Bay Beach transition area. Repeat second lap to finish.

 

Conditions of Entry:
Entry: On the day only, from ¾ hour before start time.
Categories: Individuals or 2 person Teams: Open, Veteran (40+), Junior (U20), School age, Corporate Teams.
Cost: $15 per individual, per event. $15 per team, per event. Family groups of 3 or more ($25 per family)

Course Briefing: Compulsory - 15 minutes before start time.
Safety: The organizers retain the right to change distances and / or the course if required. Competitors must undertake to follow all guidelines for participation set down at briefing. Individuals understand that entry is discretionary and that there is inherent risk associated with these events. Go2 Fitness Ltd, will 'as far as reasonably practicable' attempt to identify and manage any risk.

Prizes: Spot prizes. Competitors must be present to claim any spot prizes. To be eligible for any Series Spot Prizes on offer, Open, Veteran and Junior individuals must complete five (4) of the six (5) events in the Shoe Clinic 'Dash ‘N Splash' series. The same rules apply to all Teams, who must retain the same combination through the series to be eligible. School age entrants must complete four (3) of the six (5) events (½ or full distance). School Age Teams must retain the same combination through the series to be eligible.
Wetsuits: Compulsory for all entrants in 2018 / 19 open water events unless prior (before race day) arrangement has been made with Race Director, Mike Harris (027 4808946). Dispensation will be approved only if swimmers are elite level and / or in practice for events where wetsuits are not allowable.

POSTPONEMENT NOTICE: Any postponements due to extreme weather conditions will be posted on the Facebook page at least one hour before event start time.
